89,050 Seasonal Work Visa of Italy Opens Today under Decreto Flussi 2024

Italy’s most demanding and famous “Seasonal Work Visa” under the Decreto Flussi program starts today 25 March, 2024 for application submission. According to the Ministry of Interior Italy, almost 89,050 applicants from 35 eligible countries can apply for this visa this year. This visa is officially called a Long Stay subordinate worker visa and is of 9 months of total validity. The visa is employer-driven this is why the employer plays a key role in getting the interested workers to make it to the Italian labor market.

How to apply for a Seasonal Worker Visa?

Since it is an employer-driven visa stream, the interested applicants must first find an Italian employer to hire them and then the visa process starts from Nulla Osta confirmation. To apply for the visa, the following process is applied (step by step):

01

You’ll need a valid employment contract from an Italian company.

02

If your job falls under the in-quota system, your employer needs to apply for a “Nulla Osta” (work permit authorization) with the Italian immigration authorities in Italy.

03

Once the Nulla Osta is obtained (for in-quota) or your category allows direct application, you can submit your visa application to the Italian embassy or consulate in your home country.

04

The required documents include:

  • a completed application form,
  • passport photos,
  • and passport with validity beyond your stay,
  • proof of health insurance,
  • proof of Nulla Osta provided by the employer,
  • job documents provided by the employer,
  • proof of financial means,
  • and any additional documents specific to your visa category.

05

  • In some cases, you might be required to attend an interview at the embassy or consulate.
  • Allow for processing time, which can vary depending on the workload and your specific situation.

06

  • Once your visa is approved, you can collect it from the embassy or consulate.
  • Within eight days of arrival in Italy, you’ll need to apply for a “Permesso di Soggiorno” (residence permit) at the local post office.
