New rules for short-term fast-track work visa

They will not need to provide new biometric data or undergo a new ID check. They also would not need a provisional work permit. Although the permit still limits the stay to 90 days within a year, these changes offer more flexibility during those 90 days.

No Bank requirements for companies

The certified companies will also have relief from 1 July 2024. They will no longer need a bank account in Denmark to hire skilled workers from non-EU countries. Additionally, employees under the fast-track scheme will not be required to have a Danish bank account.

For all work visa streams in Denmark, it will be possible for an accompanying family to obtain a residence permit for the same period as the family member who is in Denmark to work (the main applicant).

The major changes to the family reunification visa for spouses requirements are as follows:

  • The financial security requirement will be reduced from around DKK 114,000 to DKK 57,000.
  • The spouse must have passed at least the Prøve I Danish 3 test or an equivalent Danish test, or through collective integration.
  • The resident spouse must have documented full-time employment for 5 years, with significant communication in Danish.
